Department of Commerce

Department of Commerce was established since the inception of the institution i.e. from 1973. Presently the department has 787 students (427 boys and 360 girls). There are five full time faculties and five temporary and guest faculties. Faculty members are involved in active research. Six faculties have completed Ph.D and M.Phil and remaining are pursuing their Ph.D programme. A practicing Chartered Accountant has been teaching Income Tax law for last the 35 years. There are four Minor Research Projects to the credit of department.

Department is facilitating the students to study the following subjects. Financial Accounting, Entrepreneurship Development, Business Environment, Principles of Management, Business Communication Skills, Corporate Accounting , Company Law, Financial Management, Marketing, Indian Financial System, Banking Law & practices, Human Resource, Management, Commercial Arithmetic, Business Statistics, Income Tax Law, Costing, Business Laws, Auditing, Financial Accounting with Tally, Financial Services, Industrial relations, Foreign Exchange.

                Department plays a very vital role in shaping the career of the students. It conducts various curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities like Periodical tests, seminars, group discussions etc. Presently department is conducting Oral coaching classes which is recognized by ICAI to prepare the students for Common Proficiency Test (CPT).

               So far department has organised two National Seminars sponsored by UGC and two State Level Fests organised for the students.
