Computer is a study of Logics and Information Technology. The subject Computer science was introduced in the year 2001 June as per the resolution of Karnatak University syllabus realizing the demand and need for industry and to enhance the importance of B.com Degree.

Every field has an application of computers. Computer awareness is made during the course to meet industry requirements and the students are benefitted by the study.

COURSES OF STUDY:

1. Karnatak University introduced semester system at the under Graduate Level for the year 2005-06.

2. Karnatak University Revised the syllabus from the academic year 2012-13. The computer subject is introduced from B.Com II Semester up to B.Com VI Semester.

3. The title of the paper is

(a)”Fundamental’s of Computer -I” for B.Com-II sem.

(b) ”Computer Applications in the Business” for B.Com-III sem.

(c) ”Computer Applications in the Business” for B.Com-VI sem.

(d) ”Computer Applications in the Business” for B.Com-V sem.

(a) ”Computer Applications in the Business” for B.Com-IV sem.

4. Teaching Hours is 4 per week for semester class.

5. Paper carries 100 Marks: 80 Marks for Theory and 20 Marks for Internal Assessment.

6. The Internal Marks is based on 2 Internal Tests and Assignments.

Computer Laboratory

The students are given 1 hours 15 min. of Computer Lab every week. Practical Assignments are given in the class and they are trained to practice in the Computer Lab. The students are made to prepare journals with minimum of 15 programs

Home Assignments and seminars will be given to students which are presented by them.

Special seminars are conducted to students with regard to latest usage of software in the job market like Tally, Windows NT, Database management (RDBMS),etc.

The Department includes the study of computer languages, software’s and operating systems with practical implementation.

The subject is studied for B.Com II, B.Com III, B.Com IV, B.Com V, B.Com VI Sem.
